Race Report: 2016 SCCA Majors Tour Final Round

The 2016 SCCA Majors Final Round at Portland International Raceway

Chino, California (July 05, 2016) – Jackson Racing heads to the Final Round of the Majors Tour.

The Jackson Racing team headed up to the Pacific Northwest again for the last stop of the SCCA Majors Tour held at Portland International Raceway. Held over the 4th of July weekend, it always makes for a fun trip filled with friends, laughs, and racing.

Friday qualifying came and the weather was perfect! Oscar Jackson Jr. set out on the track and threw down a smoking lap time that landed the FR-S on pole by several seconds. The Jackson Racing Supercharger continues to work perfectly in all the different track conditions.

Saturday’s weather was just as nice, and would make for a great race. The green flag dropped and the cars were off! There was a multi car collision in turn 1, which resulted in one of the cars oiling down the track. The race was stopped for cleanup and rescheduled for Sunday morning.

Sunday was set to be a busy day, since there would be 2 STU races nearly back to back. Oscar Jackson Jr. set out from pole in Race 1 and quickly put some distance between the other competitors and drove to the win! The Jackson Racing FR-S came back to the pits for fuel and fresh BFGoodrich tires and went out to the grid for Race 2. Another start from pole and again Oscar Jr. was out in front. After a few laps there was a full course caution. This time the track was cleared quickly and the race commenced. Oscar Jr. and the Jackson Racing FR-S kept the push after the restart and pulled off another flag to flag win, the 11th win on the season.

Besides winning the races, Oscar Jr. was presented with his Championship trophies for both the Super Touring Light and Super Touring Under classes. It was a great season for Jackson Racing in the SCCA Majors Tour. Now the team prepares for the the SCCA National Championship Runoffs at Mid Ohio in September, with the hopes of bringing the National Championship home!

Race Report: 2016 SCCA Majors Tour Round 5

The 2016 SCCA Majors Round 5 at Pacific Raceways

Chino, California (June 01, 2016) – Jackson Racing races towards more wins at Pacific Raceways in Kent, WA.

Jackson Racing headed north for Round 5 of the SCCA Majors Tour at Pacific Raceways. The weather in Washington can be unexpected. Rain? Sunny? Drizzle? Yes, those all can happen… Multiple times in one day. With the races being held on Memorial Day weekend, the weekend format was a little bit different. There was a qualifying on Saturday afternoon, another qualifying Sunday morning, Race #1 Sunday afternoon and Race #2 Monday morning.

The track was damp for Saturday morning’s qualifying. Oscar Jr. set out to put some laps in and landed the Jackson Racing FR-S on pole yet again.

Sunday had been raining on and off all morning, but the track was dry enough to keep the BFGoodrich R1-S dry race tires on. As the green flag dropped, Oscar Jr. started to turn his laps and put a good distance between the rest of the field. Lap after lap, the car maintained its poise and in the end Oscar Jr. came away with the win and a new Course Record!

Dual Radiator/Oil Cooler

Jackson Racing launches new line of cooling products for
FR-S and BRZ

Chino, California (April 25th, 2016) – The championship-winning performance experts at Jackson Racing are proud to launch their new line of cooling products, starting with the release of the Dual Radiator/Oil Cooler for the Scion FR-S & Subaru BRZ. The FR-S/BRZ version is now available for $895.00USD.

An engine oil cooler is a must have for high performance vehicles. The FA20 engine in the FR-S/BRZ is a finely tuned high compression engine and engine oil temperatures can spike to dangerous levels even on stock cars. With all types of forced induction being added to the FR-S/BRZ, the need for universal FA20 oil cooling is needed.

The Jackson Racing Dual Radiator/Oil Cooler was developed in-house in conjunction with manufacturing partner CSF Radiators to be the ultimate solution for FR-S/BRZ Street and Track enthusiasts. With well over a year of development, Jackson Racing is proud to bring a true “drop in” all-aluminum radiator with built in oil cooler for the FR-S/BRZ platform. No trimming or cutting needed and installs with all OEM components. The Jackson Racing Dual Radiator/Oil Cooler includes all necessary components for engine oil connections for a true plug and play solution.

The radiator features a 31mm CSF B-Tube core, with over a 100% increase in cooling surface area. The CSF B-Tube technology boosts surface area by 15% vs standard oval tube cores. The integrated liquid to oil cooler features 10AN fittings for proper flow to and from the engine.

The entire system has been put to the test on the Jackson Racing FR-S test mule for thousands of miles on the street and track, in all types of conditions. We are proud to say this system works flawlessly, keeping oil temperatures within a 30ºF temperature delta, thus maintaining consistent engine performance. Thanks to the large liquid to oil cooler, engine oil is kept at the proper operating temperatures in all environments, whether it is cold startup or a hot day at the autocross.
