Description
What you need
Jackson Racing Race Tuning runs through our custom ECU software. In order to do race tuning, you will need:

Race Logging Kit (AIM XLog)
The stock ECU can’t store data. The XLog records race data so we can tune you remotely.
How it works
1Install
Install HPTuners and the Race Logging kit (plus the 3 BAR MAP kit on turbo Talons).
2Log
Drive and log a session. The XLog records high-speed ECU data.
3Tune
We review the data and send your calibration remotely, then keep refining it with you.
Features at a glance
Fuel
- Boost-based fuel mapping
Correct air-fuel ratio as boost rises - Air density correction
Steady fueling across all atmospheric conditions - Engine efficiency compensation
Fuel follows engine efficiency at higher boost - Barometric compensation
Runs right at any altitude
Ignition
- Boost-based timing
Safer timing as boost increases - High air temp protection
Pulls timing when intake air is hot to prevent knock
DCT
- Clutch pressure and shift control
Factory feel from the DCT with more power
Data
- High-speed CAN logging
50 channels (2019–2021) or 300 channels (2022+)
Driver
- Selectable speed limiter
For pit or speed-zone limiter - AT upshift hold
No automatic upshifts mid-jump (short course)
Why JR race tuning is different
The Talon’s 1000cc twin uses individual throttle bodies and Alpha-N fuel and ignition maps. Standard tuning suites force boost onto the wrong stock fuel map, which costs fuel control, consistency, and reliability. Our custom ECU software adds boost control into those Alpha-N maps, the way Honda designed the engine to be tuned. The result is OEM-smooth drivability with race-winning power, the same tuning trusted by Team Raceco Factory Honda HRC.
| OEM software-based tunes | Jackson Racing race tune |
|---|---|
| Relies on speed-density map (unstable with ITBs) | Uses Alpha-N + boost multipliers (designed for the Talon’s ITBs) |
| Poor fueling control under boost → inconsistent AFR | Accurate fueling under boost → consistent, safe AFR |
| Risk of lean conditions and engine damage | Reliable, engine-safe calibration |
| Jerky power delivery, drivability issues | OEM-quality drivability with smooth power |
| “One-size-fits-all” approach | Purpose-built ECU software for Honda Talon |
| Short-term gains, long-term reliability risk | Race-proven performance with OEM reliability |
We’ve supported some of the best drivers in off-road, and now we’re making that same level of performance support accessible to more racers. Whether you’re running regional short course events or building a national-level program, this is the tuning you can trust.

FAQ
Do I have to switch to HPTuners?
Yes. Our custom ECU software only runs through HPTuners. No other Talon tuning platform supports it.
Why do I need the AIM XLog?
The stock ECU has no memory to store data. The XLog records high-speed ECU data so we can tune your Talon accurately and remotely.
My Talon is turbo. Can I use the 3 bar MAP sensor I already have?
No. Other 3 bar setups give incorrect readings and cause tuning problems. Our kit reads manifold pressure properly, which is why it’s required on turbo Talons.
Do I need pistons and rods?
Not required, but on high-boost Talons we recommend at least pistons and head studs. Our own test vehicle ran a stock engine to high power.
